Updated October 22, 2026: Early voting is now open and continues through Thursday, October 29, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, including Saturday and Sunday. Nearby early voting locations have been added below.
Maryland voters will head to the polls Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the gubernatorial general election. For Westphalia residents, several important deadlines arrive well before Election Day.
The Gazette has compiled the key dates and official resources voters can use to check their registration, find voting locations and decide whether to vote early, by mail or on Election Day.
Key dates
The advance deadline to register to vote or update voter information is Tuesday, October 13. Maryland's online registration system must be completed by 11:59 p.m. that day. Voters who miss the advance deadline can still register and vote in person during early voting or on Election Day, provided they meet eligibility requirements and bring documentation proving where they live.
Early voting is now open, running Thursday, October 22 through Thursday, October 29, including Saturday and Sunday. Early voting centers are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. Registered Prince George's County voters may vote at any early voting center in the county rather than being limited to their Election Day polling place.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Election Day voters generally must go to the polling place assigned to their residence.
Nearby early voting locations
Registered Westphalia voters may use any early voting center in Prince George’s County. Nearby options include:

Register or check your registration
Maryland residents can register online through the State Board of Elections. Voters who are already registered should also consider checking their registration record—particularly their current address—before Election Day.
Check your Maryland voter registration
Maryland also permits eligible residents who miss the October 13 advance deadline to register during early voting or on Election Day. Proof of residence is required for same-day registration.
Find your Election Day polling place
Polling locations depend on a voter's residential address. Residents should use Maryland's official polling-place lookup rather than relying on a location used during a previous election.
Early voting works differently: voters may use any early voting center within their county of residence.
Voting by mail
Any registered Maryland voter may vote by mail; no special reason is required.
For the general election, voters requesting a ballot by mail or fax must submit the request by Tuesday, October 27. Voters choosing Maryland's print-at-home ballot option have until Friday, October 30 to submit the request. The State Board of Elections advises that mail-in ballot requests can take approximately a week to process.
A completed mail-in ballot can be returned by mail, at an authorized ballot drop box or by hand delivery. Voted ballots cannot be returned by email or fax.
If returned through the U.S. Postal Service, the ballot must be postmarked on or before November 3. Ballots returned to a drop box or delivered in person must arrive by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Maryland election officials caution that putting a ballot into a mailbox on Election Day does not necessarily mean it will receive an Election Day postmark.
Ballot drop boxes
Maryland provides designated ballot drop boxes for returning completed mail-in ballots. Drop boxes remain available until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters should use the State Board of Elections' current election information to confirm an authorized location before returning a ballot.
